Recently John Mayer was interviewed by Playboy magazine and made some pretty ignorant comments that got twitter a buzz. He might not have meant for these comments to come out but the bottom line is he said those things. I have never been a big fan of John Mayer because for some reason something wasn’t allowing me to jump on that band wagon. Now I’m glad I didn’t so that I don’t have to live with guilt of liking someone that I find out later is a major douche like what happened with me and R. Kelly and Chris Brown.
Here are some excerpts from his interview and you decide for yourself whether or not he’s a total jerk.
When asked if he would ever date black women, “My d— is sort of like a white supremacist. I’ve got a Benetton heart and a f—–‘ David Duke c—. I’m going to start dating separately from my d—.”
Then he stated that “black people love me” and explained his hood pass, “”Someone asked me the other day, ‘What does it feel like now to have a ‘hood pass?’ “And by the way, it’s sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a ‘hood pass, you could call it a n—a pass. Why are you pulling a punch and calling it a ‘hood pass if you really have a ‘hood pass? But I said, ‘I can’t really have a ‘hood pass.’ I’ve never walked into a restaurant, asked for a table and been told, ‘We’re full.’ “
Let’s not only talk about him being a closet racist but the fact that he made very inappropriate comments about Jessica Simpson. If he feels that way keep the convo to his close friends and acquaintances. He’s stupid for saying such things in an interview that will get published.
“That girl, for me, is a drug. And drugs aren’t good for you if you do lots of them. Yeah, that girl is like crack cocaine to me. … Sexually it was crazy. That’s all I’ll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm.”
Mayer went on to talk about how much he masturbates and other sexual desires. Apparently, now he’s being approached to produce porn with Vivid Entertainment. He might actually need to get on that job offer because I foresee his sales declining tremendously. I can’t imagine a massive amount of women still supporting this loser.
Here is John Mayer attempting to apologize on Twitter for what he said.
Re: using the ‘N word’ in an interview: I am sorry that I used the word. And it’s such a shame that I did because the point I was trying to make was in the exact opposite spirit of the word itself. It was arrogant of me to think I could intellectualize using it, because I realize that there’s no intellectualizing a word that is so emotionally charged. And while I’m using today for looking at myself under harsh light, I think it’s time to stop trying to be so raw in interviews…it started as an attempt to not let the waves of criticism get to me, but it’s gotten out of hand and I’ve created somewhat of a monster.
Below are some people’s opinion on the John Mayer situation but in all attempts at fairness, first up to bat is the man of the week himself:
Sorry bud, I won’t be able to forgive you for a long time. I still haven’t forgiven Kramer.
This guy had very well spoken and thought of point of views. I don’t agree however that anyone should use the n-word, White or Black. We need to expand our vocabularies and learn to listen more.
Glad that some of us are having fun with this:
