Straight out of the vaults is another installment of reggae goodness. This one is dedicated to my longtime friend Nadia who is a diehard reggae fan. This podcast features reggae of the 90s where dance halls were filled with people holding Guinness Stouts and Red Stripes, catching a dub against the speakers in the dark corner of a marijuana smoke filled room. Orlando heads, remeber club “Dis Is It”? Aaaah yes, those were the days. Nostalgia is bittersweet. This was before the days of the autotune f*ckery. I wish music would go back to pure melodies and heavy bass lines. Reminisce with me as you listen to this oldie but goodie goodie mix.

The cover of this podcast is a poster that I had seen in many family members music rooms growing up. It’s the world famous 1970s Jamaica girl who ironically is Trinidadian. Shame Sintra Arunte-Bronte wasn’t a yardie, but the poster is every island man’s fantasy and will go on in history as one of the greatest tourism posters ever.
