Joya Bravo – a force to be reckoned with…

I like to show case women in the arts for their artistic merit and show that we are more than just arm or eye candy.  My latest discovery, Joya Bravo, is what her name suggests … magnificent.  This New York native with a dash of southern charm (she grew up in Atlanta) has been playing the violin since age 9.  She has an amazing energy that exudes in her performances.  Thanks to the Mickey D’s commercial that made me so curious about this rising star.

Here is a behind-the-scenes look at her McDonald’s commercial.  Try to look past the shameless Mickey D’s plugs and fall in love with the new talent like I did.

Here’s is also a clip from Dollar Van Demos where she rhymed over Lil’ Wayne’s “A Milli” in a Brooklyn dollar van down Flatbush Ave.  If you’ve ever had the experience of riding in a dollar van through areas in Brooklyn and Queens, hell even Kingston, Jamaica it would be a treat to have someone like this along for the ride.
